Andie Rathbone

Andrew Rathbone (born 8 September 1971 in Blacon, Chester) is an English drummer and was a member of the rock band Mansun.

Rathbone was the 3rd and final drummer in Mansun, brought in after the band had "internal conflict" with the previous two.

Rathbone, then an Audi Car salesman, was playing in a local covers band and had attracted the interests of the members of Mansun with his drumming skills and flamboyant look. Originally turning the band down because he thought they played "Britpop shite", he later had a change of heart after the band played him a demo of their new song called "Wide Open Space" He joined the band shortly before their debut album Attack of the Grey Lantern was released.

Rathbone's initiation into the band wasn't without mishap; arriving for his first live gig with the band, flicking through a copy of the NME for details, Rathbone found he had got the wrong train and instead of the correct destination of Brighton, he had infact arrived at Bristol Temple Meads.

Shortly after, his first proper gig with the band was a televised appearance on Channel 4 show TFI Friday, where the band performed "Stripper Vicar".

Since the breakup of Mansun, Rathbone has formed a new band with Jonti Thackery called "Seraphim".
