Peter Edward Clarke, (born August 21, 1957, in St Helens, Lancashire), better known as Budgie, is an English drummer. He began his career with the New Wave band Big in Japan and also the Spitfire Boys before briefly playing with The Slits, recording the album Cut. Budgie then joined Siouxsie & the Banshees, the band with whom he would gain most notoriety, in 1979. Initially he was intended to only be a temporary replacement for Kenny Morris, who had left the band two days into a tour. However he remained with the group, from the album Kaleidoscope, until they eventually split up. He also formed the band The Creatures, together with Siouxsie Sioux, whilst with the Banshees and has played on all their subsequent recordings and concerts.

Budgie married Siouxsie Sioux in 1991.
