Chris Hutton was the original lead singer for English rock group The Rain, later to become Oasis.
Hutton brought together friends Paul Arthurs on guitar, Paul McGuigan on bass and Tony McCarroll on drums. After less than a year together, the band was headlining Manchester's popular venue The Boardwalk.
Despite this relative success, Hutton was replaced by Liam Gallagher. Hutton suspects that this move was done more to lure in Liam's brother Noel than because of a lack of talent on Hutton's part.
At the height of Oasis' fame, Hutton released a book, Don't Look Back in Anger: Growing Up With Oasis about his experiences with the band members over the years.
With McCarroll being sacked in 1995 and McGuigan and Arthurs leaving in 1999, all the original members of The Rain have now left the band.
