Clinton David Boon (born 28 June 1959, Oldham, Lancashire, England) is a musician.
He rose to fame with the band Inspiral
Carpets, which he joined in 1986 - the distinctive sound of his Farfisa organ
becoming one of the band's trademarks. After the Inspiral Carpets split
in 1995, Boon went on to form The Clint Boon Experience
releasing two albums
under this name -
Boon made a cameo appearance on the 2002 film, 24 Hour Party People as a train conductor, and has recently worked with Cosgrove Hall providing voice-overs and music for the Engie Benjy cartoon series. Boon has his own record label, Booney Tunes, signing artists like Elaine Palmer, and has also been a regular DJ at a number of nightclubs around England, and in Wrexham in North Wales. He once again joined the Inspiral Carpets for two sell-out tours in 2002/2003.
In 2005 Boon became head of music for the Oldham based radio
station,
Boon is also a presenter on Xfm Manchester. He hosts Music:Response from Monday to Thursday between 7pm and 10pm, introducing live sessions and a listener-led chart countdown, as well as a Saturday evening show called Boon Army.
He also use to sport the popular mushroom haircut when he was in the Inspirals.
