Hugh Harris (born c. 1987 as of July 19,
2007 he is 20 years old]) is the lead guitarist of The Kooks. At the
moment he tends to play a Gibson ES 335, a Gibson Les Paul Goldtop and
a Duesenberg guitar. On stage he usually plays through 4 Hiwatt 2 by 12
combos. He also provides backing vocals for The Kooks. During the late
nineties and early millennia he was lead guitarist in the funk outfit
known as Soul Solid. Prior to this he played guitar with Three Hoods
And A Ginger (of which he was the Ginger, later discredited for unknown
reasons), a young Lewes based band, and spent a short period blazing a
funkadelic jazz trail with People Like Funk (alongside Duff Paddy,
Henners D, Squallie Mobbs and E.B.I), another Lewesian outfit. Hugh met
what was to be the Kooks, at Brighton Institute of modern music where
he was studying.
