John Carter (born John Shakespeare, 20 October 1942 in Birmingham, England) is an English singer, songwriter and music producer.

Mainly popular in the 1960s, Carter's craftmanship, alongside his songwriting partner Ken Lewis (Kenneth Hawker), can be heard at work with:
