John "Speedy" Keen (born 29 March 1945, in Ealing, West London — died 21 March 2002) was a member of the band, Thunderclap Newman.
Before joining Thunderclap Newman, he was the chauffeur
for The
Who's guitarist, Pete
Townshend. He is famous among fans
of The Who for writing "Armenia City in the Sky" for the
group, the lead track on The
Who Sell Out. This was the only song The Who
ever performed that was specifically written for the group by a
non-member. He also wrote the hit song "
Keen died suddenly at the age of 56 in 2002.
