Martin Jackson, born in Manchester, England August 30th 1958, played drums in various bands such as Magazine and The Chameleons. In the early '80s he joined together with keyboard friend Andy Connell to create an album called "UK Electro" in 1984.
Jackson and Connell formed the band Swing
Out Sister together with singer Corinne
Drewery in 1985.
Jackson played the drums on the debut album in 1987, but left the
band in the middle of recording
According to producer Paul Stavely O'Duffy, who said "Martin (Jackson) certainly was instrumental in getting things organised initially and I don't think there would have ever been a Swing Out Sister without him (Martin Jackson)".
O'Duffy then said that Martin Jackson's drumming never made it to the record or CD and he was replaced by another drummer named Chris Whitten. O'Duffy said he was not surprised when Martin Jackson left Swing Out Sister to pursue musical interests like Hard Rock.
