Michelle Christine Scott-Lee, née Heaton (born 19 July 1980, Gateshead, England) is an English pop singer, television personality and sometime glamour model. She is married to former boyband member Andy Scott-Lee and is the sister-in-law to former STEPS singer Lisa Scott-Lee.

Singing

A former student of Emmanuel City Technology College in Gateshead, Heaton began her singing career in the band Sirens with other girls from the north east of England. She rose to fame when she took part in the ITV reality television show Popstars. Heaton reached the final ten but was not selected for the 5 member band Hear'Say. Soon after, she and the other 4 unsuccessful applicants formed Liberty X, signing a record deal with Virgin Records.

Since 2004, she has written a regular column in the Hotstars section of OK! magazine.

In 2004, Heaton appeared in the Fitness DVD Liberty X-Toned.

Television appearances

In 2005, Heaton was a contestant on Comic relief in da bungalow, Test The Nation and took part in ITV1's ill fated Celebrity wrestling.

She has guest-presented the television programmes SM:TV Live, Diggit, CD:UK, CD:UK Hotshots, Toonattik and Saturday Showdown.

In May 2006, Heaton played in goal for England in the Celebrity World Cup Soccer Six tournament.

In 2005, Heaton was featured in the MTV UK and Ireland reality television production, Totally Scott-Lee - based around the musical career of Lisa Scott-Lee.

In December 2006, Heaton was a contestant on a celebrity couples edition of The Weakest Link.

She has recently been seen in the 3 part documentary series Michelle & Andy's Big day for ITV2 and as a reporter in Australia for GMTV.

Glamour modelling

Michelle has taken part in several photoshoots in lingerie, swimwear and other revealing outfits for men's magazines such as Maxim and Loaded, and has commented in the past that she would welcome a move into glamour modelling full time if her singing career was to come to an end.

In September 2006, Heaton was announced as the face (and body) of the Ultimo 'Michelle at George' lingerie range, available exclusively at Asda stores nationwide.

Personal life

She is married to Andy Scott-Lee, the brother of Steps star Lisa Scott-Lee and former member of boyband 3SL. The couple married on 21 October 2006 in a lavish Winter Wonderland-style wedding. The wedding was covered by celebrity magazine OK! and guests included Lisa Scott-Lee and her husband, ex-Hear'Say member Johnny Shentall, fellow glamour model Jordan, former Pop Idol winner Michelle McManus, Sarah Harding of Girls Aloud, Liz McClarnon of Atomic Kitten, and controversially, Ross Kemp. Michelle said in a copy of OK! magazine that she would now like to be known as Michelle Scott-Lee.

Health

Michelle reported to the News of The World that she has been diagnosed with a life-threatening heart condition that could lead to her death, and has planned her own funeral. Michelle has been told she must undergo a major operation to fit a pacemaker.

"When you think every heartbeat is your last you have to have conversations about your funeral, I've talked to Andy about what to do if I die. I have been forced to have that conversation and talk about those issues with him. I'm doing my will now even though I'm only 27."
