Nick Beggs (born Nicholas Beggs, 15 December 1961, in Winslow, Buckinghamshire, England) is a British musician. He has pursued his own musical career since Kaja (post Kajagoogoo) split up.

Career

In the early 1990s, Beggs played bass for the Celtic rock band Iona. His primary instruments are bass and Chapman Stick.

His mother died when he was a young boy, and he was left to bring up his sister almost single handedly while his father paid the children little attention. He left school and immediately took up work as a dustman to provide an income for him and his sister, Jackie. It is this bond that has remained over the years and now, some years later, he lives a few minutes walk from her.

He is a devoted father and musician.

Nick has worked with (amongst others) Belinda Carlisle, Seal, Iona, Alphaville, Gary Numan, Howard Jones, Industrial Salt, ABC, Kim Wilde, Toyah Willcox, John Paul Jones, Right Said Fred, Michael Bolton, China Crisis, Curiosity Killed The Cat, Troy Donockley, Go West, Tino Eisbrenner, Engelbert Humperdinck, Keke, Polysics, Rick Waller, Cliff Richard, Mark Shaw, Then Jerico, Steve Howe, Warren Cuccurullo, Tina Turner, Cozi, Maddy Prior, Tom McRae, Jo Stevens, Midge Ure and Nena.

Nick and ex-Kajagoogoo member Steve Askew have been heavily involved with a new duo called Industrial Salt, they have written, produced and played live for the band who have been successful in Japan. Beggs and Askew have also written material for young singer Claudia Mills, a finallist on the BBC talent show Let Me Entertain You
