Ted Turner (born David Allen Turner, 2 August 1950, Yardley, Birmingham) was a guitarist and vocalist with the rock band, Wishbone Ash, in which he was famed for his twin lead guitar instrumental arrangements with Andy Powell. He also contributed stellar performances on lap steel guitar for instance "Rock and Roll Widow" from the "Wishbone Four" album and "In The Skin" from Nouveau Calls".
Turner was previously with the Birmingham based band, King Biscuit, and was with Wishbone Ash from 1969 until 1974. He played and sang on their first 4 albums including the classics Pilgrimage and Argus.
In 1971, Turner played guitar on John Lennon's Imagine album.
When he left the band he was replaced by Laurie Wisefield, who was formerly with the band called Home. Turner had a second spell with Wishbone Ash from 1987 to 1994, and has since made guest appearances with both Wishbone Ash and Martin Turner's Wishbone Ash.
