The Dodgems

The Dodgems are a four piece Rock and Roll band from Sheffield consisting of Phil Goodwin (Guitar/Lead Vocals), Tommy Goodwin (Piano/Keyboard/Organ/Backing Vocals), Chris Murray (Bass Guitar) and Eric Miller (Drums and Percussion). The band was signed by Alan McGee to his poptones label after a bidding war between several labels. Tipped to follow in the footsteps of previous McGee signing Oasis. Their first major single "It's Alright" was released on 8 August 2005.

The Dodgems have played many venues in Sheffield and all over the country. In 2006 they played at the notorious V Festival as well as touring with Indie Rock band The Subways after the festival.

The band have recently be resigned to NoCarbon / Universal Records with intentions of a single and tour to follow this summer. Former member Nick O'Malley has gone on to replace Andy Nicholson as bassist for Arctic Monkeys.

The band released their second single on July 23, 2007. The song "Your not what you used to be" is accompanied by the B-side "Swings and Roundabouts". This will be in the middle of a tour currently in progress and extending through July. Most of the tour is in support of The Checks.
